Describe the agent’s goal, tools, and limits, and get a structured prompt for an autonomous or semi-autonomous AI agent.
What Is an AI Agent Prompt Generator?
An AI agent prompt defines a goal, the tools or actions available, and guardrails, then leaves the AI to plan and act toward that goal across multiple steps, rather than answering a single question. This tool assembles that structure: goal, tools, constraints, and a required output format, which is the shape most agent frameworks and multi-step AI workflows expect.
The tool above is free, runs entirely in your browser, and doesn’t send your input anywhere.
How to Use This Free AI Agent Prompt Generator
- Describe the agent’s goal, the outcome it’s working toward.
- Optionally list its available tools and any constraints it must follow.
- Pick the final output format.
- Click “Generate Agent Prompt,” then use it in your AI agent framework or as a system prompt.
Why Constraints Matter More for Agents
A single-turn prompt only produces one response you can review before acting on it, an agent can take several actions in sequence on its own. That makes explicit guardrails, what it should never do without confirmation, more important than in a regular prompt, since there are more opportunities for it to act on a misunderstanding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this AI agent prompt generator free to use?
Yes. It’s completely free, has no sign-up, and runs in your browser.
Do I need to list tools for this to work?
No, that field is optional. It’s mainly useful if you’re using this with a framework or API that gives the AI actual tool access.
How is this different from a system prompt?
A system prompt defines general behavior for a conversation. This is specifically shaped for multi-step, goal-directed agent tasks with tools and guardrails.
Does this work with any AI model?
Yes, it’s plain text and works with any AI model or agent framework that accepts a text prompt.
